Kazuo Ooka had no idea that he would become an artist when he first set foot in the United States in the late 70’s. He came here as an engineer. His creative mind, yes, also in the mechanical field, eventually brought him success after he had taken on an entrepreneurship of a manufacturing company. When he sold his business some years later, he immediately immersed himself in oil painting. His relentlessly inquisitive effort to better his work for two decades has finally enabled him to express his vibrant voice onto the canvas and his soul into a 3-dimensional figure. Kaz succumbed to leukemia in June 2016.
